2010 Campaign Kick-Off Training

When: Wednesday, September 29, 7:00 p.m.

Where: Office of Andrew Kandrevas

13400 Dix-Toledo Rd., Southgate

Dust off your walking shoes and clipboards - it's time to kick it into high gear for the 2010 campaign season! We will be brushing up on our campaign skills with a training the evening of Sept. 29. Don't be shy, all are welcome! We will have snacks and such for volunteers as well.

September Campaign Events!

The 2010 campaign is kicking into high gear - bring friends with you to these upcoming events!

Campaign Phone Bank
When: Thursday, September 23, 6:30 - 8:30
Where: Office of Andrew Kandrevas

13400 Dix-Toledo Rd., Southgate.

We'll meet at State Rep. Andrew Kandrevas' office in Southgate to make calls to Democrats and Independents to encourage them to vote on November 2nd.

DYD members will also reach out to young potential volunteers in the area and invite them to our campaign training on Wednesday, September 29!

September General Meeting

September General Meeting
Saturday, Sept. 11th
12:30 p.m.
Zodiac Racquetball Club in Southgate.

As many people will be out of town for Labor Day, we are pushing our meeting back a week this month. As it is also Sept. 11th, we will be collecting donations for the National September 11th Memorial in New York City - but know that donations are not required to attend the meeting.

We will have updates on campaigns and upcoming events with Organizing for America, and hopefully a Judicial Candidate for a guest (not confirmed). As always, pizza and good conversation to be had by all.

Join the DYD as we have some awesome pizza and discuss opportunities to get involved with upcoming campaigns. Future events, such as a movie night, will also be discussed.

1st Annual Summer Picnic

Sunday, July 11

2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Elizabeth Park, Trenton MI

All young dems and young dem alumni are welcome!

Free, but it's a potluck, so please bring something (like chips or a 2 liter of pop). We will be providing hot dogs.

Candidates: Due to the 4th of July Holiday, we are not having any more general meetings before the August Primary. If you would like to meet and speak to the Downriver Young Dems - and maybe get a few volunteers - please let me know that you are coming and I will see that you get a chance to speak.

Our next General Meeting is Saturday, August 7th at 12:30 p.m. at the Zodiac Racquetball Club in Southgate.
